Verse 5-12: A huge social injustice occurred when John the Baptist was beheaded as a party favor. Did Herod have the right to behead John? What drove Herod to behead John, even though he didn’t want to? Have you ever hurt someone because you had more concern about your pride and you considered there were minimal consequences for your actions?

When the world looks like it’s falling apart, what is the appropriate response of Christians? How do Christians deal with injustice?

Do you feel unprepared to do God’s work? God calls us to step out in faith and do His good work, trusting Him to fill in the gaps. What are areas it’s hard to trust Jesus in, because the need seems too great but our means seem too small? Have you seen God provide when it seemed like a hopeless situation?
