Verse 1-2: What are some of the benefits of getting a college degree? What can a degree not get you? What means more in the workplace, the degree or experience? Why?

Verse 3: Have you ever bought something based on an advertisement or packaging only to be disappointed in the product? Have you ever stepped into a church and be disappointed that the content didn’t match the advertising? How do we produce a different outcome?

Verse 4-5: Do you or anyone you know have a problem with wanting the latest and greatest of something? What’s the difference between what we want and what’s sufficient? How is God sufficient?

Verse 6: Do you struggle with not being the best at something? Do you struggle with feeling ill-equipped to do God’s work? How should we view our ability to serve God with what we have?

Verse 7-11: Reference Exodus 34:29-35. Why is the new covenant so much better than the old? What is the glory as demonstrated with Moses? How can the glory of the new covenant exceed the glory of the old covenant?

“When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. But Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses talked with them. Afterward, all the people of Israel came near, and he commanded them all that the Lord had spoken with him in Mount Sinai. And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face. Whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would remove the veil, until he came out. And when he came out and told the people of Israel what he was commanded, the people of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face was shining. And Moses would put the veil over his face again until he went in to speak with him.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭34:29-35‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What is Paul referring to when he calls out the “ministry of death” and the “ministry of condemnation”? What implication does this have for us?

Verse 12-13: Why would we be bolder than Moses, who saw the power of God up close and personal? What is the significance of the veil?

Verse 14-16: What was hidden from the Israelites? What were the Israelites hardened to? What can we be tempted to be hardened to?

Verse 17-18: We bear the image of God by having an intellect, moral awareness, a will, emotions, creativity, and a spirit. In what way is our image being transformed by the Spirit of God? How do we allow this transformation to happen?
