2 Corinthians 2

Verse 1-2: Have you ever had a problem with your spouse and you went into the conversation ready to have a fight? How did that turn out? How would you respond differently this time? Is your version of winning a fight where the other person sees how right you are or is it that you have a stronger relationship?

Verse 3-4: What’s a tough conversation you’ve had to have with someone about their behavior? What is it about thought conversations that makes it so tough? What is it that we are afraid of?

Verse 5-8: Have you ever had a wayward child? How have you responded in love and discipline? How did your parents discipline you? Was that good or bad? Have you had discipline that drew you closer to your parents? Have you had discipline that caused separation? What is the approach that Paul would have us take?

Verse 9: What does how we discipline day about us? When you discipline, what are you for and what are you against?

Verse 10-11: Why does Satan hate forgiveness? What is Satan’s design?

Verse 12-13: What are the characteristics of a strong Christian brotherhood relationship? What do gain with one? What do we lose without one? How do we know if we have one?

Verse 14: In verse 14, Paul refers to Christ’s followers as captives being led in a procession. American’s pride themselves on their liberty and individualism. Do you think these ideas are mutually exclusive or do you think they are compatible? Do you think we can only have a true free democracy when we separate church and state? How can we be both captive and free?

Verse 15-16: In what way are an aroma that brings death? In what way are we an aroma that brings life? Do you think we should be both?

Verse 17: In what ways to churches communicate to people that they need money? What are some positive ways churches do it? What are some negative ways? What do you think is the best way to get funding for churches?
